The Voice of the (Original) Church of God

Greetings!  Welcome Fall!

How great is our God to give us four seasons, a variety of beauty in nature to enjoy every year.  Cooler, shorter days and beauty in the change of seasons! Sometimes we just need to stop and look around and give thanks! Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Psalm 68:19

In September we visited with Pastor Julius during his annual convention. I preached Friday through Sunday. What a great time of worship and fellowship. We also visited with Pastor Antis for a prayer service, which was a great experience. We want to thank all of our friends there for their hospitality. Believing for great things within these churches and the lives of those they minister to.

Later in September we visited Bro and Sis Lankford in Chattanooga, Tn. What a delight to spend time with these servants of God.

October 5-8, 2015 we gathered at Camp Ridgedale for our annual convention. The numbers were down, but what a great time we had. We are thankful for all who came and shared the word, led praise, and worshipped. We were blessed to have Pastors from Boston and India. Bro. Blesson Daniel & Kristina with us. Bro Blesson is now Bishop Blesson. We ordained him Bishop at this convention. We had a great time.

We appreciate those at the camp who worked, and prepared for our stay. Thanks and appreciation to Bro and Sis Kyser for their labor there for so many years. Also, I wanted to thank Bro Roy for the pastor's appreciation gift.

We just returned from Arkansas. We were at Bro Jerry Staffordís for their Fall Festival. We enjoyed the fellowship, food, and singing. I preached on Sunday morning. These are fine servants for our Lord, and have many faithful helpers. Please pray for the Pastor Jerryís health needs.

Sunday night we were with Bro. and Sis Ford at New Works in Augusta; these are truly some of Gods choice people. We just praise God for the work there, and all the souls saved as of late. We appreciate the Ford's, their labor, and for all who've come and caught the vision! Praise the Lord.

We do need to be in prayer for each other. You may not know the need, but God does! Call out the names of our minister's and their families. Prayer is needful!

Revival in Boston!

Thanksgiving Day is a time to reflect on the blessings God has given to us. When we think of Thanksgiving, we remember the childhood stories of the pilgrims and Indians feasting together in 1621 at Plymouth Plantation, Massachusetts. Although, thanksgiving was originally set aside to give thanks to God for the fall harvest he gave to us. The United States has added traditions to this day, creating a traditional Thanksgiving holiday where families come together and feast on turkey and chicken dressing.

Today, most of us have such busy lives that we forget our blessings. Many times we take things for granted. This Thanksgiving while we are gathering with our families and friends, we should remember how blessed we are to have family, friends, food, and all the other things God has given to us. Many blessings are priceless, such as a family member, and we should be thankful for all those miracles.

This Thanksgiving everyone should remember how important life, family, and friends are to each of us.  We are fortunate to have food on our tables, good health, and a job to provide for our family

Godís word tells us in Thessalonians 5:18 - "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God."

There is power in having faith and thanksgiving. Trust God because only He knows what is good for you. Once you will start trusting his will you will give thanks for everything which happens.

During this Thanksgiving, remember to give thanks for all your blessings. One of the greatest blessings of all is love. Let everyone in our communities remember to share love with one another and give God thanks for his love.

Greetings from Arkansas,

I hope and pray that everyone had a blessed summer. As for us here in Arkansas we have had a little dry weather and because of that the farmers have been hard in the fields. With that said I am pleased to announce that in our churches and the men and women of Christ in them have been hard in the fields as well bringing in a great harvest for Christ and that I hope excites you just as much as it does me. In Augusta we are seeing a great move of God!!! Never as before are people coming into the church hungry. Not for the food of the body but rather for the food of the soul!!! We have been doing everything we can to draw people into the church but I want to encourage everyone that it's neither food nor special events that have brought people through the door. While that has all been fun the greatest thing has been preaching the gospel and showing people the love of Christ. Did you hear me church??? It's not food, events, or special circumstances that are getting people's attention it's the Love of Christ!!! So let me encourage you men and women of God, preach the Gospel and Love the people with all your hearts despite their faults because games, parties and events come and go but the Love of Jesus Christ will change lives and last forever!!! God Bless all of you!!!

~ Rev. Jason Ford (Arkansas State Overseer)

I have been awakened in my spirit since the movie War Room Sherry and I for years have had a room we've used in this manner, it enlightened me about assignment in the face of opposition, I think of Jack Nicolson the actor with the statement, You can't handle the truth; I hope we can as the church get past our differences fall into place and fulfill our assignment thus ruining Satan's day, if you have no opposition you have no assignment. So take heart in the fire the fourth man is there with you; Stay in your prayer room.

A Reflection of Bishop Blessonís Ministry

We at the Original Church of God in Bankston, AL had a great time with Bro. and Sis Blesson praising God for the work they are doing in India. Everyone please remember them and little Israel when you pray. It was a great experience for many of our new converts to be in such an exciting service with Bro. and Sis Blesson, the service, the worship, the preaching, such a great anointing, many received a touch from God that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

Thank you Bro. and Sis Blesson for all you do for the kingdom of God!                                       ~Bro. & Sis. Hagood

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. Matthew 10:27

Please join me in supporting and praying for our Brothers and Sisters in India, and for the Gorimedu and Davidpet Churches.  There is such a great need in India. May the Lord bless them, and protect them. May the Lord bless you all.

From Bankston, Alabama,

God Bless all the family of God!

We would just like to let everyone know we enjoyed convention this year. I am hearing good reports from our churches and God continues to move for us here in Bankston. Sis Hagood and I are excited to hear how God is moving for Pastor Jason Ford in Arkansas. Thank God for the great men of God that we have in our organization.             Bro. Taylor, on his last visit with us, preached with such a great anointing that he set Bankston, Alabama on fire. I would like to say thank you to Bro. and Sis Taylor for the sacrificial life that you live, and the work each of you do for the kingdom of God. Your reward shall surely be great. God bless you both.

Brothers, the word of God tells us to know them that labor among us. I want to let all the churches in the Original Church of God know that we have a great evangelist among us with such a powerful anointing and a word from God for our churches, and he is Bro. George McGregor. Bro. McGregor came to Bankston for a three night revival where we truly received a stirring in our spirits. We will never be the same. I believe every church should book Bro. McGregor for a revival. You and your church will be blessed.

Bro. James and Sis Sharon Hagood and the Bankston church want to thank you Bro. McGregor for what you have done for us and our Church. Let us all continue to pray for each other, lifting up every church that we may be strong in unity, and in the love of God. If we can be of any help to you and your church, please let us know.

~God bless you all in Jesus name,

                                                                Pastor James and Sharon Hagood
